Nor'west Urban Solutions LLC Filling
Growth Management Act Housing Needs
When 60% of Western
Washington’s population lives on 10% of the land,
the need for housing solutions magnifies. Taking a cue from
European style living, where people are coalesced into urban
growth areas, while farmlands and natural resource areas
are preserved, is the future outlook for Kitsap County communities.
“Right now, urban in-fill is very
important because the growth management act of 1990 is placing
the majority of upcoming growth into urban zoned areas,”
says Paul Eberharter, CEO of Nor'west Urban Solutions LLC based out of Kingston, Washington. “Our
living patterns have to address this,” says Eberharter.
Nor'west Urban Solutions
is focused on serving the needs of the growing Kitsap County
population. “Nor'west has a double focus – one, is to create
quality architecture and enjoyable living and working
spaces, and second, to fulfill the need of the increased
demand for urban style housing,” states Eberharter.
Urban
style living means residential and commercial intermingle.
“Our main development goals are to create mixed use
structures, equipped with ground floor commercial and to
build taller structures that hold residential homes above,”
says Eberharter. This style of mixed-use development is a
key resource for professional businesses like medical or
dental offices and retail shops. “With this style of
structure, we can create friendly community style buildings
offering covered shopping, as well as tap into mountain and
water views for the residential portions,” says Eberharter.
Separate parking is available for both commercial and
residential parties and buildings will incorporate
courtyards and recreation space for residents.
“This
urban condominium style living is, in part, the new ‘entry-level’
housing,” says Eberharter. “We build in attractive
architecture, walking trails and recreation opportunities
so that families have enjoyable, safe and affordable options
for home ownership.”
